This enables the Amazon Cloud Drive to be mapped as a Network Drive in Windows, Mac and Linux, and it also enabled for the sync tooling that SMEStorage has for each of these desktop operating systems. SMEStorage today announced that its unique CloudDav offering has been updated to support WebDav access to DropBox and Google Storage. CloudDav adds a WebDav access layer to any cloud that SMEStorage supports though its Cloud Gateway, even if the underlying Storage Provider does not support WebDav. iSMEStorage recently updated their Cloud Gateway to support the Microsoft Live Essentials files so that existing, and new users, who use iSMEStorage with SkyDrive will be able to access, manage and collaborate with their Live Essentials files directly using the iSMEStorage application. Microsoft is moving its services toward Live Essentials in which users can nominate files from their local windows machine which are then accessible in a read only mode from MIcrosoft’s SkyDrive web interface. CloudDav, from SMEStorage, enables WebDav access for storage clouds even if they are not WebDav enabled by default. These include Amazon S3, Google Docs and SkyDrive. This makes it ideal for being able to edit documents from these clouds using the iWork Application, which was recently updated to support WebDav access.
