Zevrix Solutions today announces BatchOutput Server 4.3, an update to its output workflow automation solution for Adobe InDesign. Originally developed for a major publisher in the United States, the software automates InDesign output by processing files from hotfolders. BatchOutput Server offloads printing and exporting to PDF and PostScript to a central system leaving operator workstations free from the output process. The new version adds support to InDesign CS5. Dejal Systems, LLC today announced Simon version 2.5.7, the essential server monitoring tool for Mac OS X. It checks web pages, FTP and DNS servers, local or remote ports or volumes, and other services for changes or failures, and notifies you via e-mail, sound, speech, Twitter, SMS, HTML reports, and other means. Intego Security Memo – HellRTS

Austin based Intego has discovered a new variant of a malware for Mac, called HellRTS. When installed on computers running Mac OS X, HellRTS opens a backdoor that allows remote users to take control of infected Macs and perform actions on them. Intego identifies this backdoor as OSX/HellRTS.D, a variant of an early Mac OS X malware first spotted in 2004. HellRTS is built in RealBasic and a Universal Binary able to run on both PowerPC- and Intel-Based Macs. Continue reading
