Corporate Smalltalk Consulting Ltd today announces PDF 1.8.9 for iOS, an update to its document viewer app that allows the user to view both complex, oversize, or large multi-page PDF documents. The app employs proprietary LargeViewer technology to convert and pre-render large documents for smooth scrolling, zooming and sub-second rendering. In addition to reading PDF files that are thousands of pages long, PDF 1.8.9 can easily deal with difficult to rendered scanned books found on archive.org. Continue reading

Crowd-funded, inexpensive visual thesaurus app to inspire love of words

A new visual thesaurus app for the Apple iPad will inspire people discover and explore words, in an inexpensive or free app. The app developers are crowd-funding the project using KickStarter, and hope enough word lovers will back the project to make it a reality. The app will display a visual constellation of interlinked words, with synonyms, multiple definitions, antonyms, etymologies and related words.
