The Predator Alert App can actually prevent a crime from happening as opposed to a great program like Amber Alert which is activated after a child is abducted or reported missing. Eve Carson, student body president at UNC, was taken from her home after 3 a.m. by two men who drove her to an ATM machine and then shot her 5 times. Carson could have used Predator Alert App, formerly IcePic, to trigger an immediate email alert along with her GPS location that could have resulted in assailants arrest. Continue reading

Independent software developer Jeff Neumeyer today announces IcePics 2.0 for iPhone and iPod touch devices. How can you protect yourself from an attack? Anyone who suspects they are about to become a victim of kidnapping, rape, robbery or assault simply has to point their iPhone at the suspicious person and push the IcePics button on their iPhone.
