With the growth of multi-Mac households, Dolly Drive, online backup for Apple’s Time Machine, has released a new Family Plan in time for the Holidays that lets families or people with multiple Macs backup online or expand their storage on a single account. The company also announced an upgrade of the inclusion assistant which significantly simplifies the initial backup process. Dolly Drive launches free seeding service for Time Machine online backup

Dolly Drive, online backup for Apple’s Time Machine, will now offer Mac users free seeding on 250 GB and higher online storage plans. The “Seed for Speed” program gives Dolly Drive subscribers with large initial backups the fastest means for getting their data securely in the cloud. Dolly Drive was named MacLife’s Best Software and Best of Show at MacWorld 2011, and recently announced it will be including online storage and file syncing as part of its complete cloud storage offering. Cirrus Thinking today announces Dolly Drive 1.6, an important update to its award winning cloud storage for Mac OS X. Dolly Drive is a subscription software and online storage service designed for Apple’s Time Machine. Version 1.6 adds new functionalities to the Dolly Drive application with the version 1.6 scheduler which adds the ability to change hourly backup frequency, the ability to skip a set time during Time Machine backups, and the ability to set a start time and end time. Dolly Drive to introduce Syncing and Online Storage in December

Cirrus Thinking takes Dolly Drive beyond Time Machine by adding syncing and online storage services to its cloud offering. The new functionality, which was presented for the first time at the Loop Business Expo at the New York Marriott Marquis, will be added to the Dolly Drive suite of services. Users will be able to create a bootable clone of their Mac on an external hard drive for local disaster recovery. New Dolly Drive throttle lets users control bandwidth and upload speed

Dolly Drive, online backup for Apple’s Time Machine, has added a bandwidth throttle in its version 1.5 upgrade, giving users greater control of internet speed used during Time Machine backups to the cloud, simultaneously letting users allocate more bandwidth for other programs during those backups. The upgrades to overall control of backups include a new user interface that provides easier access to Dolly Drive’s growing number of capabilities. Version 1.5 works with Lion and Snow Leopard.
