A private contractor came under insurgent fire last month while stationed at a base near Kabul, Afghanistan. Using only his iPhone and Tactical NAV, he was able to quickly relay the coordinates of his position to the International Security Assistance Force tactical operations center for help. An unmanned aerial vehicle was dispatched to his location and the insurgent attack was thwarted.
