Irving, Texas – SwarmLocal 1.2 for iOS, a mobile app currently available in the Itunes marketplace, lets you form instant groups of people in close geographical proximity. Allowing an instant channel of mass communication among people sharing a common interest/goal and in close proximity opens the door to a myriad possibilities of teamwork.
SwarmLocal introduces the concept of ‘swarming’. Swarm behaviour, or swarming, is a collective behavior exhibited by animals of similar “size” which aggregate together, perhaps milling about the same spot or perhaps moving en masse or migrating in some direction.(Source – WikiPedia)
SwarmLocal allows you to create or join, mobile or fixed swarms, or groups. Anonymous users within a Swarm’s range have the ability to join the swarm. A minimum of three members are needed to activate the Swarm for inter-Swarm messaging between members. Once a Swarm membership drops to zero the Swarm is automatically destroyed.
A Swarm is stronger and more resourceful than an individual.
