Granada Hills, California – The team of artist-author, Marjorie Sarnat, and graphic designer, Marty Safir, each won awards for the book, “151 Uncommon and Amazing Art Studio Secrets,” on August 20, 2011, at the inaugural ceremony for Dan Poynter’s Global eBook Awards in Santa Barbara, CA. The wins were for Best Art/Graphics eBook, Non-Fiction, and Best eBook Cover, Non-Fiction.
“151 Uncommon and Amazing Art Studio Secrets” is an 84 page handbook, bursting with ideas and methods for artists to try and apply. Every entry is presented in quick and easy-to-grasp terms.
The “secrets” come from the career of the author, who has worked in the commercial and fine art worlds, as well as having taught art for many years. Sarnat wrote the book to offer artists of all levels the unique tips, techniques, and creative inspiration she acquired, discovered, and innovated throughout her artistic journey.
“151 Uncommon and Amazing Art Studio Secrets” attracts artists working in all types of styles and materials, and in the short time it’s been available has received praise for its content.
Aviva Kramer, former professor of art at the Illinois Institute of Art in Chicago, IL said, “This book was a revelation, even for a seasoned painter like myself. Chances are you will discover new techniques and materials that you have never thought about! In addition, Marjorie’s casual and upbeat approach makes it easy to read.”
“I am an artist and lead an Experimental Artists Group that meets regularly and who are always looking to find and implement new products, techniques and short cuts for the way we approach our art,” said Barbara Jones, artist and teacher from West Hills, CA. “I know I’ll use the book often.”
“The cover design of an eBook is extremely important,” said book futurist, Dan Poynter and originator of the Global eBook Awards. “A great cover draws the potential reader in and creates the right emotional setting for reading the book.”
Cover designer, Marty Safir, had that in mind with his approach to the artwork. “Just like a bookshelf in a retail store, the eBook sits on a ‘virtual’ shelf, whether you are browsing to buy, or you already own the book,” said Safir. “It’s important to create something strong to grab the reader’s attention and to convey the significance of the book’s content.”
Pricing and Availability
“151 Uncommon and Amazing Art Studio Secrets” is available today in popular eBook formats including iBookStore at only $2.99 USD (or equivalent amount in other currencies).
Not to be left out, “traditional” readers can enjoy the book in paperback format as well. It’s available for $7.99 USD (or equivalent amount in other currencies) on Amazon and other online retailers. Wholesale orders are available through book distributors.
